In the world of graphic design, sometimes you just have to call someone out...
It seems that the modified code I was using for the smaller OnDemand (scroll down the page a bit) is no longer streaming correctly. Is there something we can do to fix this?
I also see that the latest OnDemand code for the small version of the streamer has taken some inspiration from the graphic we have displayed on our website.
The only reason I noticed the change was because the player suddenly stopped working and I investigated. Hence my email.
Here are the graphics in question. Note that the WBIW version came before the new FOX News Radio version.

WBIW version

FOX News Radio (new) default graphic
Look at them... even the word "play" is captialized like mine.
William's response:
I thought your small version graphic was spectacular and I did take some inspiration. Come to think of it I should have emailed you before hand. I am more than willing to revert to the older one until I come up with a finalized clean version. Your version was much cleaner and too the point. Please let me know if you would like me to revert it.
William notes that my graphic is more to the point. I had to make it that way because the default graphic that FOX News Radio was supplying said "YOUR LOGO HERE" but there was no place in the (smaller player) code to change the image above the player controls without modifying their code. Yet in the code for their larger player there was a specific line that you could change to impliment your own graphic. WTF? I even had a specific conversation with Williams about this but it was waved off. Hmm... OK.
I don't mind FOX News Radio creating a graphic similar to one that I came up with; I'm actually pretty glad that someone at a major network took notice of the work I've done.
But at the same time I was miffed that FOX News Radio changed their graphic to match what I designed without even mentioning it to me. I wish I had saved the graphic FOX News Radio was using before; it wasn't much better than what they are using now (even if it is inspired by something I created).
William apologized and I'm cool with FOX News Radio using something similar to my design. I wasn't even that upset about it to start with but it's a matter of principle, you know?
Be seeing you.
Jason P. Thompson is a 20-something web and graphic designer. I currently live in Bedford, IN and work at three small-market radio stations based in the same city. At work I wear many hats including IT Consultant, Webmaster, Graphic Designer, Assistant Program Director and Morning Producer. I do work in radio, so assume that I only get paid for one of those jobs.
I went to school for a career in TV or film but I have found myself down many different careers paths since that time. Perhaps I will never have a life long career (even though I have been currently employed at the same place I was hired on in high school back in early 2001), but that's OK with me.
When not at work, I enjoy keeping up with film, television and graphic design. Television is a particularly "bad" vice of mine; I try to give every new show at least one chance before committing one way or another.
